On the Move.....Again

Well, out of the blue Friday afternoon, Jay's boss told him that they are opening up a new Red Lobster in the Memphis area - and that Jay could have it if he wants. And he wants. So we are moving back! The restaurant doesn't open until October, buy Jay would get there in September to start everything. However, the kids and I will probably have to move late summer because of school.

It is a little bittersweet for me. We have really grown to love our little town and our life here. We have begun to get actively involved in our church, and the school system is really good. Not to mention the friends that we have made. And no major traffic!

On the other note, it will be nice to be close to family again. Especially with a new baby on the way. And this is a really good opportunity for Jay. We feel that this opportunity was brought about for a reason, and we are really excited!

So Memphis, here we come. Until we move again. :)

hey Christy! This is Morgan Kimbrough (now Holt). I'm not sure if you remember me or not but we both attended Harding so maybe??!? I ran into your blog after reading others. Congrats on the new baby! SO exciting! I just had another one myself in December. I wanted to ask you if you knew what part of Memphis the Red Lobster was going to be in? We live in Oakland now...just outside of that area. Glad you are doing well and Welcome back to Memphis! (early) :)

I was hoping you would say that the Red Lobster was coming further out this way. :) We really like Oakland. It's a smaller town outside of the city of Memphis but it only takes me 20 minutes to get to Wolfchase mall. Our Walmart Supercenter just opened this past week. We also have a Kroger, Walgreens, and other places that make it easier to live here than going into "town" for them. After living out here, it's hard to go into the busy areas of Memphis...traffic is awful! With part of 385 opened, it's easier for my husband to get to work. He actually works near where the Red Lobster will be opening. He works off of Shelby Drive and it takes him about 40-45 minutes to get to work. We could have lived closer but the houses are booming here and it was easy to get a big house for a lot less than we'd pay elsewhere and the taxes are wonderful! Very low! And yes, I get told very often how much my girls look like me. Emmersen is starting to change some so it should be interesting who looks like who when they start getting older. :)
