Pregnant and Pale

So, I'm definitely in need of a tan. My pregnant self is looking pretty pale this summer. I've been thinking of trying out the Mystic Spray Tan before going to San Diego, but I'm afraid of how it would turn out. Have any of you tried it before, or know someone who has?

i've done the mystic thing before, and it left me kind of orange. i did the airbrush spray for my wedding, and i really like the way it turned out. this is done by a person, not a machine. true, a little awkward standing in front of a stranger while she sprays you with brown paint, but you get over it! it's a little more expensive than mystic, but worth it i think. my hair salon did it and i think some day spas do it.

My color turned out fine with the mystic tan, but my husband told me that I smelled so bad from the tan. Plus, I usually get hot during the night and my sheets/pillow would end up orange. It always washed out though. Just make sure that you can use the mystic while you are pregnant. I thought I read that some of the OTC self-tans were not recommended during pregnancy. I may be wrong though.

Yes, I talked to my friend Mary who is a nurse practitioner today. She discussed it at the "round table" with 2 physicans and 3 NPs - the consensus is that I need to stay away from spray tanning while I'm pregnant. Pooh!

We can just bask in our paleness together :)

I wonder what happened to the days when being pale meant a woman of great worth? It was more vogue to be really pale and those who were tan were from the "lower class"...

ahhhh.....

Sigh.
