Husband Project Day Three

Project #3
You da’ Man

Spreading Great Gossip About Your Guy

Your Project:
Say something nice about your husband to someone else. Make sure you tell him what you said, and to whom.

Getting Creative
Who are the important people in your husband’s life? Your kids, his parents, his friends? Be intentional about who you chat with when you brag on him – it’s almost as important as actually doing it.
Having a hard time coming up with something? I still brag on my guy for things he did years ago. He loves when I tell the story of how brilliantly he proposed (there were waterfalls and stuffed portabella mushrooms involved…).

Here are some other areas to think about when crafting your brag:

  • His parenting skills
  • His patience level
  • The way he treats your mom
  • His culinary ability
  • His job
  • His loyalty to you

Christy's note: I am absolutely loving the comments - keep up the great work!

This was a fun one! I enjoyed being able to specifically have to think about what I was going to say and who I was going to say it to! I decided to tell my mom. Rarely do I comment on my relationship with my husband to my mom or just describe to her really how I feel about him, so I think it might have caught her off guard a little. It was simply stated... I just told her that I really appreciate what a great dad he is to Ryder. I honestly could not have asked for a better husband and father to our child. He is amazing! Extremely patient and helpful. We have been going through a rather rough time right now, and he has really opened up and told me things lately that I have really needed to hear. Things that he usually just keeps bottled up inside even though he feels the same way about it as I do. He has become a shoulder I can cry on and comforts me in my time of need. He is amazing. A best friend. It really felt good to open up to my mom about him. She knows about the difficult time we are going through right now and it was neat to be able to tell her how Robbie is truely feeling and how he has been there.

This challenge was really easy for me, I am married to the most amazing man I know and I don't mind telling people about it. I am careful to not brag too much but I appreciate the person he is so much. I was on the phone with a friend and commented on how I appreciate how much he has helped me over the past week. He was within earshot and heard everything. He just looked at me and smiled. I know it made him feel proud to have made me happy and helped me out so much. I chose her with the hope to be a positive influence on how she views her husband.

This one, I had already done before I read the assignment! My mother-in-law are not really close, but she had emailed me today. At the end of the email, she stated she was glad it had rained (she lives in Jackson, MS). I responded back that I was too because Darrell had just planted some more things in our front flower garden. Then, I went onto say how much I appreciated how good he was at yardwork and landscaping and had made our home and church look so nice with his skills. So, tonight....we were looking at the yard, and I told him about what I said to his mother. First, he was surprise his mother and I emailed back and forth, and he seemed to light up when I told him about bragging on him to his own mother! :)

I posted a message to David on his Facebook profile just telling him how much I love him and kinda bragging on him. I was home all day today and the only person who called me was not a conversation I could brag on my hubby so I kinda cheated and just posted it on Facebook for all of his friends to read.

I guess I kinda cheated on this one too. I really never talked to anyone else yesterday (besides him and my customers) to brag on him. Last night I told him several times what a wonderful dad his was and when he suggested us to go to dinner I said "Oh I thought you may use those good grilling skills that you have." Ok I know kinda cheesy. I will work on this one. He is at the firestation today so I will put today's challenge on my list for the weekend.
